Institutional Custody

The custody of Digital Assets is the next logical step in the evolution of the safekeeping of financial assets. The first step was Share Certificates that were held in a purely physical form where self custody was common practice. This system was overhauled as national regimes turned towards the dematerialization of shares, which led to the birth of the custodian bank. Because Digital Assets and traditional assets share many similarities, the key purpose of a custodian remains: safekeeping, asset protection, and asset servicing. At the time being it is unclear which role the custodian will play as regulators are still in the process of defining it. However, due to blockchain technology, Digital Assets can be instantly transferred and a permanent record of every transaction is kept. Furthermore, manual servicing can be eliminated by programming corporate actions into a smart contract. It is safe to say that the differences between Digital Assets and traditional assets lead to a greater responsibility for the custodian. Asset servicing could include reviewing ERC-20 or other available tokens' smart contracts and checking the underlying code for back-doors or other conditions relevant to investors. In the case of asset protection, the safekeeping of assets is not merely storage of private keys, it is a continuous effort that includes monitoring developments such as blockchain improvement requests, soft and hard forks or changes to the consensus mechanism.

We at Bewaarder see it as the custodians‘ responsibility to not only monitor but also advocate on matters relevant to these types of developments, because they can have implications on the Digital Assets the custodian is holding.

The expertise of our team spans over a variety of different industries, yet we all strive toward the same goal. Our trust, in the fundamentals of blockchain technology and the capabilities it provides, enables us to see the bigger picture. Driven by ambition, backed by a deep technological understanding and fueled by a long-term vision, to provide the first fully regulatory compliant institutional custody service for Digital Assets, we proudly present you the pinnacle of digital wealth management. Bewaarder.

Execution services

Bewaarders custody service comes with a customizable execution service. Our cutting edge cold-storage solution allows customers to benefit from efficiency rates that are unique to the market, out-performing the current standards decisively. Institutions can choose from a variety of options to further secure the transaction process.

These options include:

  • - M-of-n signatures: easily set up how many parties have to sign a transaction for it to be valid
  • - Time delays: set up time delays that allow for veto periods
  • - Whitelisting: only allow transactions with certain addresses, all others will be blocked

Due to the nature of our all-in-one custody solution, it is not farfetched to also act as atrusted intermediary to settle transactions. The placing of funds in our secure escrow wallet ensures that a buyer can perform due diligence on a potential transaction. Bewaarder acts as a neutral party to ensure that no conflict of interest can arise.

Wallet as a Service

We at Bewaarder see the limitless potential of blockchain technology and want every organization to be able to benefit from it. We offer a solution for institutions and organizations, without blockchain developers, looking to integrate blockchain into their existing applications. Our wallet as a service opens up the possibility to integrate wallet functionalities, such as storing and transferring tokens, into existing applications. With our WaaS solution, your organization can focus on Blockchain and it’s possibilities, while we safeguard the private keys.

A Blockchain network needs infrastructure to work in an efficient and secure manner. Many blockchain networks incentivize their users to provide the resources needed for creating and maintaining said infrastructure. One of these incentive mechanisms is „staking“. Staking can be compared to a fixed deposit in fiat currency which rewards you with a fixed interest rate at the end of the stipulated time in the contract. Proof of Staking (PoS) is a consensus algorithm that is used to create new blocks that are added to the blockchain. These blocks are validated by an entity that is already holding the cryptocurrency. Staking not only provides a financial incentive by rewarding stakers, but also assists in keeping the nodes honest. Generally speaking, nodes that try to add fraudulent transactions to the block they are validating will be locked out of the network, because nodes in the same network will not accept the transaction.

Staking in comparison to mining has major benefits and is generally seen as a more environmentally friendly alternative to mining. The amount of currency held does not depreciate over time and staking guarantees a predictable source of income. The one downside staking has, is that the tokens are locked up for a certain period of time.

In addition to custodial services we also offer staking services.

Data Stream

Our customers profit from our inhouse blockchain data aggregation. Blockchains take up massive amounts of storage space, some of the tokens' blockchains are up to 1TB and growing with every transaction. We store and aggregate blockchain data from all of the tokens we support and plan to integrate, so your organization doesn't have to. View, search and analyze transactions on the blockchain with our user friendly search engine. Bewaarder Data Stream also offers customizable notification alerts, so you can stay up to date on large token movements.
